TRAINING PROGRAM

We desire to train as many people as possible in the skills and knowledge base required to counsel biblically.  Our training course is specially designed to help you achieve certification with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). In this course you’ll get to sit under the teaching of experienced Biblical counselors and trainers who will give you a solid foundation of practical Biblical counseling knowledge. The course will prepare you to take Biblical principles and apply them to real life circumstances.  You’ll grow your foundation of Biblical counseling knowledge, learn how to apply Biblical principles to topics like family problems, worry, fear, pornography, and others, and have the opportunity to observe biblical counseling cases.

Time

Classes meet September – April, alternating Wednesday evenings 6:30-8:15 PM.  The course takes two years to complete.  The first year’s emphasis is on theology.  The second year is counseling.

Requirements

Our goal is to walk you through the certification process from start to finish.  The course will give you all the tools and encouragement you need to fulfill the requirements of ACBC certification. Short written papers will be submitted each class.  These papers will fulfill the written exam requirements for certification.  Reading assignments will also be assigned that correspond to the counseling or theology issue in focus.
